Photos from my first night in Tokyo

In the airport you take your big airport cart on the escalator. This JFMF'er (as they refer to us Japan Fulbright Memorial Funders) is smiling...but it's pretty scary having that huge luggage rack right above you with just a brake on the wheels.

Riding in on the bus we saw Tokyo Disney. This is the second largest Ferris Wheel in the world. We won't visit there, but you can virtually -

Ok, so do I look happy to be here or what. It's a dream come true!
I didn't get any fruit at this stand, but I'll be back! Doesn't it look delicious?!
Our first dinner in Tokyo was delicious. Now, this is one thing I've been really anticipating! Sushi! These are raw fish such as tuna, wrapped with rice and seaweed. MMMMMMmmmmmm! I love it.
I don't know if it is done everywhere, but see how they hang the check on the chair. We had some problems communicating. Tomorrow I'll bring my Language Map which a friend and Japan traveller suggested. Thanks Emelia!
Salarymen. That is what they call business men in Japan. There were plenty of women, too, dressed in what I consider very high fashion. I was amazed that they were everywhere and it looked like just heading home at 10:00. The Japanese work long hours, sometimes 16 hour days.
The hotel personel are so nice and welcoming. This is a great place. I couldn't resist a photo of this elevator attendent.
